Architectural tour: From the Corbusier House to the Georg Kolbe Museum
The event begins with an exclusive tour of the Corbusier House, a key work of post-war modernism. You will gain insights into Le Corbusier’s architectural and urban planning concept, the history of the building, and life and living in this iconic building. Afterwards, architect Dr Dirk Dorsemagen will accompany you on an architectural walk through Berlin’s Westend district. Along the way, you will discover the diversity of modern architecture in this part of the city and learn more about the urban developments that have shaped the neighbourhood. The event ends at the Georg Kolbe Museum, where the focus is on the sculptor’s former home and studio. Here you will gain exciting insights into the connection between art and architecture as well as the design principles of the building, which was constructed in 1928. The event concludes with a social gathering at Café Benjamine, which is part of the heritage-listed museum ensemble.
