Plastering workshop in the garden

Plaster is the classic sculpting material. Georg Kolbe used it intensively in his studio and created numerous plaster models, which can also be seen in the current exhibition.
We follow in his footsteps in the garden of the Georg Kolbe Museum and are inspired by the forms and motifs there.
Plaster offers a wide range of creative possibilities: It can be cast, modelled and worked. This workshop will provide an introduction to the material, practical tips and tricks and step-by-step instructions for creating simple sculptures in plaster.

Thomas Schelper is a plaster artist and works in the plaster moulding workshop of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. In addition to teaching, he pursues his own artistic practice with a focus on moulding techniques.
