Art Mediation at the Fountain
Two co-operation projects with the Institute for Art in Context at the Berlin University of the Arts and the Thomas Mann Gymnasium have resulted in different perspectives and observations on one of the most prominent works, the Dancers‘ Fountain in the garden of the Georg Kolbe Museum.
During the afternoon, the school project The Fountain will be presented, and afterwards, the students, who are already pursuing their own artistic practice, invite you to try out the artistic mediation formats they have developed and to take part in their interventions.
Through artistic practices, challenges and opportunities in art mediation were tested and rethought. These collaborations stem from the museum’s educational work, which shapes the conversation with visitors not only as a dialogue from an internal museum perspective. Experts in their own right, from different backgrounds, and artists jointly contribute to the current discourse with the audience. This shift in perspective from the speakers keeps the practice of unlearning alive within the museum.
With artistic interventions by students of the Institute for Art in Context: Mauricio Candela , Mika Ebbing, Pascale Espinosa, Catherine Rose Evans, Schokofeh Kamiz, Georg Scherlin.
