Nature and architecture in interplay

In the summer holiday workshop children aged 7 to 12 creatively explore the connections between architecture, sculpture and nature. How could the two big words „transience and sustainability“ be artistically summarised in a joint design? For this experiment, the participants follow the architectural footsteps of Mies van der Rohe and make their own small maquettes (sketchy models for sculptural figures) using the sculptures of Wilhelm Lehmbruck and Georg Kolbe as examples. Afterwards, they will jointly create a design for the garden of the Georg Kolbe Museum in the form of a wooden miniature model.

The workshop will take place from 8 to 11 August 2022, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will be led by Jessica Waldera (kleine baumeister). It is aimed at children aged 7 to 12. Registration and further information via Jugend im Museum e.V.
