Curator Dr Helen Gries will present the important vase from Warka (former city of Uruk) in the Museum of the Ancient Near East on the basis of the copies shown there and will embed it in its art-historical context. The vase is considered the earliest example of narrative relief art and tells of the ancient coexistence of animals and humans.

The starting points are the discourses in the exhibition and the objects on display, and will be based on the artistic and practical work with school classes. The participants try out the different aspects of the school workshops, can share experiences and questions, have time to reflect and discuss with the art educators.
