Contemporary Puppetry

As part of the exhibition, students from the „Contemporary Puppetry“ diploma programme at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts will develop possibilities for a digital animation of a marionette by Oleksandra Exter. The resulting work will be ceremonially included in the exhibition on 11 January and explained and contextualised by the students and teachers in a discussion with the audience.

Lecture on the artist Oleksandra Exter

Tetyana Filevska, creative director of the Ukrainian Institute in Kyjiw, curator and cultural activist, specialises in the period of the Ukrainian avant-garde. In her lecture, she will talk about the painter and stage designer Oleksandra Exter, who grew up in Kyjiw and whose expressive marionettes are world-famous today.
