“No one is an island”
On Sunday, November 3, 2024, the Georg Kolbe Museum and the Bonhoeffer House invite you to “No one is an island”, an artistic neighborhood project about history and resistance in the Westend. The event is taking place as part of Museum Sunday on the topic of preventing anti-Semitism. The project combines history, art and an engagement with resistance to National Socialism.
The artist Franziska Pierwoss has designed a performative walk that begins at the Georg Kolbe Museum and leads to the Bonhoeffer House. Inspired by the leaflets of artists Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore as well as Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s involvement in the resistance, the event artistically explores topics such as civil courage, political activism and the limits of individual possibilities for action.
The walk will be followed by a discussion in the Bonhoeffer House about the current reception of Bonhoeffer’s writings in the USA, accompanied by a small culinary offering.
