Hybrid Beings between Human and Animal – Experiments with Colour on Paper

The works of the artist Leiko Ikemura deal with humans in the universe and their relationship to the environment. Her sculptures, drawings and paintings address the processes of change, transition and „the flow between states“. In experiments with colour, we try to translate these in-between states and the flowing into each other in painting. Do the colours reveal something about our mood? Can we sense them in the artist’s works and in the rooms of the museum? How do we see ourselves and how do we perceive our world? With fingers, pens, brushes and colours of all kinds, we create worlds and figures on paper that flow back and forth between familiar and unfamiliar.

The workshop will take place from 30 January to 2 February 2023, from 10 am to 2 pm each day, and will be led by artist Sarah Steiner. It is for children aged 7 to 12.
