Curator's Tour in the Museum of the Ancient Near East

In the Museum of the Ancient Near East, Dr Helen Gries will present an important vase from Warka (former city of Uruk) on the basis of copies shown there and will embed it in its art historical context. The important vase from the fourth millennium B.C. and the contemporary animal sculptures and reliefs in the Georg Kolbe Museum address the relationship between animals and humans from different perspectives and point to the continuing relevance of this ancient coexistence.
