Film Screening "Es" Arsenal Cinema

On the occasion of the exhibition Tilla Durieux. A Witness to a Century and Her Roles, the Arsenal Institut für Film und Videokunst e.V. is showing the film ES. In 1966, at the age of 84, Tilla Durieux played her last cinema role in director Ulrich Schamoni’s film. It is about the young Hilke (Sabine Sinjen), who lives in Berlin, unmarried to Manfred and deliberately against the ideas of bourgeoisie. When she finds out she is pregnant, she decides to have an abortion, which she only tells Manfred about afterwards. ES is Ulrich Schamoni’s first feature-length film and one of the early works of the New German Cinema.

Curator Daniela Gregori will introduce the evening and talk about the actress Tilla Durieux.

Tickets are available via Arsenal Kino here.
