Artist Talk with Omer Krieger

Omer Krieger (*1975, Tel Aviv, Israel) creates performative actions, political situations and civic choreographies in public spaces. He studies the public experience and the performance of the  nation state, and is interested in the relationships between art, citizenship, politics and action.

Inspired by Noa Eshkol’s performance commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in 1953, Omer Krieger collaborated with Ruti Sela and Mor Bashan, the Chamber Dance Group, who recreated the movements of the 1953 ceremonial performance. In a conversation, the artist talks about the collaboration and his engagement with the work of Noa Eshkol. He also provides insights into his work and the development of his artistic concepts.
