Curator's tour

The exhibition was developed jointly by Dr. Sylvia Martin, Deputy Director of the Kunstmuseen Krefeld and Dr. Julia Wallner. In Haus Lange, a private house by Mies van der Rohe built in 1929 for a textile manufacturer, a dialogue between architecture, sculpture and nature first developed in the summer of 2021, which will now be continued in the Georg Kolbe Museum, which was built at the same time. The two curators of the exhibition talk about the concept and current research questions that make the project relevant from today’s perspective. For the first time, an exhibition explores the question of the significance of concepts of nature in the context of modern architecture and their interplay with sculpture.
